The Álvares Pimentel Vineyard offers a unique and complete wine tourism experience. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour of the vineyard, learn about the process of growing vines and grapes, discover wine production and taste the wines produced.

Tour through the Álvares Pimentel Vineyard

A member of the family takes visitors on a tour of the Vineyard, explaining the Geology, the History of viticulture on the island of Pico, providing an opportunity to view the indigenous grape varieties Arinto dos Açores, Verdelho and Terrantez do Pico, and the unique characteristics of their terrain.

Visitors are taken to the Casa de Abrigo where the winemaking process is explained, from harvesting the grapes to bottling the wine.

tasting picnic

Visitors have the opportunity to taste a selection of wines produced at Vinha Álvares Pimentel accompanied by delicacies from the island of Pico.

The complete visit lasts approximately 1.5 – 2 hours, depending on the visitors’ preference.

The minimum capacity is 1 visitor and the maximum is 6 visitors per visit, in order to guarantee a personalized and quality experience.
